Manco Capac Plaza in Aguas Calientes: how to get there, what to see (statues, church, restaurants), and things to do.

Manco Capac Plaza is the main gathering point and most picturesque space in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). Named after the legendary founder of the Inca Empire, it's the perfect place to relax before or after your Machu Picchu visit.

How to get there

From the Consettur bus station on Avenida Hermanos Ayar:

  1. Walk uphill for 2 minutes to the Sinchi Roca bridge
  2. Turn right onto Sinchi Roca street
  3. Continue straight until you reach the plaza

The plaza is just 5 minutes walk from both the train station and the bus stop to Machu Picchu.

A charming stone church open to the public. Read more in our parish guide.

Restaurants & Bars

The plaza is surrounded by restaurants offering traditional Andean cuisine and modern Novo Andina fare. Great spot for lunch after Machu Picchu.
