Hotel pickup in Cusco

Pickup from your hotel between 4:15 and 4:30 AM in Cusco.
Breakfast in Mollepata
06:30 AM approx.
We travel 2 hours to Mollepata where we enjoy a buffet breakfast. Our guide will provide instructions and recommendations for the adventure ahead.
Soraypampa – Trailhead
07:30 AM approx.
We continue our journey for approximately 1 hour until reaching Soraypampa, the starting point for the hike to the lake.
Ascent hike to Humantay Lake
08:30 – 10:00 AM approx.
The ascent hike takes approximately 1.5 hours. Along the way we can appreciate the beautiful wildlife until reaching our destination, Humantay Lake.
Humantay Lake (4,200 m.a.s.l.)
10:00 – 10:40 AM approx.
At Humantay Lake (4,200 m.a.s.l.) we can see this natural wonder in the Vilcabamba range at the foot of Salkantay glacier (6,270 m.a.s.l.). This beautiful lake with turquoise waters was formed by glacial melt from Humantay glacier. Its turquoise color is due to blue-green algae. In this beautiful natural landscape you can feel the energy of this mystical place and build the famous "Apachetas" — stone towers that are objects of worship as providers of water, a vital element in the Andean world.
Descent and lunch in Mollepata
10:40 AM – 12:30 PM approx.
We return along the same route for approximately 1 hour where our tourist transport awaits to take us to Mollepata for a delicious lunch after the hike.
Return to Cusco
6:00 PM approx.
Finally, we return to Cusco arriving at approximately 6:00 PM.
