04:00 AM
Pickup from your hotel at 04:00 AM.
04:15 AM
We depart by tourist bus to Km 82 (Piscacucho) where our Inca Trail trek begins. Along the way we can see corn plantations catalogued as some of the largest in the world.
07:00 AM approx.
Start of the 12 km trek. We hike 2 hours to Mescay for lunch and a break. Then we head to Patallacta (or Llactapata), a site suited for agriculture with terraces, buildings and ceremonial enclosures.
02:00 PM approx.
At Patallacta we see agricultural terraces built on ascending slopes. Finally a 2.5-hour hike to Huayllabamba, our first rest point and overnight campsite.
After breakfast
The day starts with a 13 km total hike. After breakfast we trek 4 hours to Warmiwañusqa mountain, the highest point at 4,200 m.a.s.l. Its Quechua name means "dead woman".
Midday approx.
At Warmiwañusqa we enjoy one of the best views of the Andes mountain range surrounding the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Afternoon
We descend to Pacaymayo at 3,700 m.a.s.l. A 3-hour descending hike before rest and overnight.
After breakfast
Morning starts with a 16 km hike through lush vegetation and the oldest Inca Trail road networks. We head to Sayaqmarca where we see the finest Inca engineering — a tower with a lithic staircase forming a labyrinth.
Midday
After Sayaqmarca and a well-deserved rest, we head to Wiñayhuayna, another archaeological site surrounded by beautiful Inca terraces. Its Quechua name means "forever young" at 2,500 meters, with streets, patios, liturgical fountains and terraces — the gateway to Machu Picchu.
Afternoon
We head to the campsite in the same area for rest and overnight.
Early morning
The great day has arrived. We have the unique privilege of passing through the famous Inti Punku (Sun Gate), where we get a magnificent view of the world wonder before heading to the archaeological center entrance.
Per reservation
Those who reserved Huayna Picchu can access it with a 45-minute staircase climb to the summit — a unique experience with a natural puma-shaped offering altar.
2 hours
A 2-hour guided tour covering the majesty of the Inca citadel: the Intihuatana astronomical observatory, Temple of the Three Windows, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Condor and residential sectors.
After guided tour
Time to explore and take all the photos you desire.
Afternoon
After a wonderful day at Machu Picchu, you can descend on foot or take the bus to Aguas Calientes, then the train back to Cusco. We conclude the Inca Trail tour with a unique and unforgettable experience.
