In this map we can have a view of the route of the Inca Trail in its two presentations, the classic Inca Trail of 4 days and the short Inca Trail of 2 days.

The map shows two routes, one of them is blue, which belongs to the 4 day Inca Trail, and the other is green, which belongs to the 2 day Inca Trail.

Inca Trail Map 4 and 2 days

The Inca Trail of 4 days (blue color) has as starting point from the city of Cusco or Ollantaytambo to go to kilometer 82 of the railway line that leads to Machupicchu. Here begins our adventure through Inca trails with the first stop which will be the archaeological site of Llactapata or Patallacta (2840 m.a.s.l.) and continue to the first camp which is located in Huayllabamba, a total hike of 13 km.

On the second day, we will leave our campsite for a hard day’s hike of more than 11 km where we will be at the highest point of the Inca Trail at Warmiwañuska (4215 ma.s.l.) and pass by the archaeological site of Runkuraqay and then head to Pacaymayo, our second overnight stop at the campsite.

The third day is a longer trek of 16 km of a descent from Pacaymayo to the archaeological site of Sayacamarca and then we head towards Wiñayhuayna (2650 meters above sea level) an archaeological site that will surprise you with its beauty and then spend our last night in the camp already assigned by our team.

The fourth day is our final encounter with Machupicchu, for this we will leave early from Wiñayhuayna in a descent to reach the sun gate at the famous Intipunku where the first rays of sunlight enter and that is a unique experience for every tourist who makes the Inca Trail, and then have the final presentation of the wonder of the world Machupicchu.

The day will end with the descent from Machupicchu to Aguas Calientes and then take the train from the station that will take us back to the city of Cusco.

Inca Trail Map 4 and 2 days

The 2 day Inca Trail (green color) has as its starting point from the city of Cusco or Ollantaytambo to go by train to kilometer 104 of the railway line that leads to Machupicchu. Here begins our adventure through Inca trails with our starting point that will take us to Wiñayhuayna (2650 meters above sea level) where we can have a preamble of what awaits the next day, after being in this place we will leave to have a view of Machupicchu by the sun gate or Intipunku which is the most privileged place of all tourists the main entrance to Machupicchu.

After being here, we will start with the descent to the town of Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night and the next day very early to ascend to Machupicchu and enjoy the magic of this beautiful place.

After the guided tour and with the energy at 100, we will begin the descent to Aguas Calientes and then take the train from the station that will take us back to the city of Cusco.
